President's Grade
President’s Grade
Grab your mates and get a team together for social cricket with the President’s Grade on Friday nights! This competition is just for a bit of fun, and is broken up into City & Country pools so you can play close to home. Contact your local club to join or enter a team.

Senior Saturday Competitions
Our Saturday senior/open competitions consist of Premier, 2nd, and 3rd grades which run in T20 and One-Day (40 and 50 Overs) from October to April.
These grades are steeped in rich history and tradition and have produced some amazing cricketers who have gone on to become local heroes or represent Central Districts or NZ.

Junior & Youth Competitions
Youth and junior cricket Grades 4-8 have officially kicked off over the weekend, along with the new Dual Pitch Smash. This exciting new format for players in Years 3 & 4 means more time on task, maximising enjoyment for those still learning the game.

Smash Play Hubs
Smash Play Tamariki Hubs provide a fun opportunity for kids aged school years 0-2 to get amongst softball cricket.
There are seven Smash Play hubs being run by clubs in our region on various days of the week. Download the general info below, or contact your local club to sign up.
Yeah! Girls
These FREE sessions are for 5–17 year olds, and are all about giving it a go — for girls only! No equipment or previous playing experience needed. Yeah! Girls aims to develop skills in an action-packed environment, with an emphasis on having fun with friends and being active.
The Yeah! Girls Rangatahi has been moved to Wednesdays at the Saxton Indoor Cricket Centre. Year 9-10 runs from 4pm - 4.45pm and Year 11-13 from 4.45pm - 5.30pm.
Younger age groups remain as follows:
Year 1-3: 3:30pm - 4:15pm
Year 4-6: 4:15pm - 5pm
Year 7/8: 5pm - 5:45pm

Women's Summer Smash
WOMEN'S SUMMER SMASH IS BACK!
Back by popular demand is our Women's Summer Smash series, beginning November 21st! For women and girls 13+ of all playing abilities, this is a fun FREE opportunity to get amongst some social games of cricket and celebrate females in sport.
Matches will be in The 100 format across six Thursdays, leading up to the WSS Festival in March.

Multicultural Festival
Back by popular demand for another year is Nelson’s Multicultural Cricket Festival! Get amongst some fun cricket action to kick off 2025.
