Jock Sutherland made Life Member of New Zealand Cricket

Nelson icon, Jock Sutherland QSM, has been honoured with New Zealand Cricket Life Membership at their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 20th November 2024.  Jock was one of four people to be awarded Life Membership including: Neil Craig ONZM, Graham Dowling OBE, and Lee Robinson MNZM.

This recent recognition caps a remarkable feat whereby Jock's life long service to the sport of cricket has now been recognized with Life Membership by his Club (Wakatu Cricket Club), District Association (Nelson), Major Association (Central District's), and now the national body.  All of this is in addition to the Queens Service Medal he received in 2015 for services to cricket.

Jock's commitment and contribution to cricket cannot be understated, with his service to the game dating back to the early 1970s with his Club, Wakatu Cricket Club.  Since then, Jock has helped with the administration of the sport, spending time on the Board / Management Committee at each level of our network.
