Car Company Stoke Nayland hope to snare TPL Finals Berth

While they are pretty much a shoo in already, a win for Car Company Stoke Nayland on Saturday would ensure them automatic entry into the TPL final on Sunday 23 February.  They host Wakatu at Marsden Rec on what will be each teams final round robin game.  It is something of a split round as Nelson College and ACOB will play their final match next weekend, the Marlborough teams have already completed their fixtures and the only other match is Wanderers/Motueka and WTTU at Brightwater.

Wakatu have been performing well in the last few weeks of 110 over play and will offer Stoke Nayland more than just pococurante opposition. Campbell McLean has been producing consistent feats with bat and ball while new ball bowler Damo Aitken has been picking up plenty of wickets.  Stoke Nayland though will want to guarantee only the one match on finals weekend so they will be on high alert and well-motivated. Kurt Pahl is well due.

The match as Brightwater has only academic interest though these are two good teams who take pride in their performances.  Wanderers/Motueka will welcome back Max Mannering from rep duty while WTTU have Josh Newport back on deck.  This should be an even encounter.

Both matches commence at 11:30 am.

POINTS:

Car Company Stoke Nayland 45, ACOB 40,  Dolphins 39, Nelson College 35, Falcons 27, WTTU 20, Wakatu 15, Wanderers/Motueka 13
