T20 Cricket Round Two

Two first round winners square up against each other in Round Two of the T20 club cricket competition on Saturday.  WTTU showed their intent with a solid victory over Wakatu on the back of an undefeated hundred partnership between Tom Ingham and Joe O’Connor, while Car Company Stoke Nayland snuck home off the last ball against ACOB.  This should be an interesting matchup as WTTU aim to grab some consolation silverware while Stoke Nayland will be looking to maintain their standards.

Wanderers/Motueka took a bit of a mauling last week and will hoping to reverse their fortunes against ACOB.  They are better than that, but Hayden Ingham and Dave Leonard need a little more support.  ACOB will be smarting from their last ball defeat and have Jake Milton and, unbelievably, Sam Berkett in good nick.

Nelson College have been playing a huge amount of cricket lately with another couple of one dayers during the week.  They have no excuses not to be in form as they take on Wakatu at Victory Square. Brad Smith scored a nice half century last Saturday, but the home team will be asking for a bit more from others.

All matches begin at 3:00 pm.
