Nelson Cricket's Commitment
At Nelson Cricket, we believe that everyone deserves the chance to enjoy sport in a safe and supportive environment. When individuals feel safe, our vision is able to come to life: "Fun Cricketing Experiences Together".
Our commitment to providing safe sporting opportunities is at the heart of everything we do. We prioritise the safety and well-being of all participants, from players and coaches to volunteers and spectators. Regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or physical ability.
In order to achieve this, we ensure we have the appropriate policies and processes in place to allow for robust recruitment processes for all staff and volunteers.
Safe in Sport Programme
To demonstrate our commitment, Nelson Cricket has partnered with Sport Tasman and Safeguarding Children as part of the Safe in Sport Tick Programme.
This programme commenced in October 2024, and will provide a thorough review of Nelson Cricket's current policies and procedures. From this audit, our policies and procedures will be enhanced to meet current best practice, along with our key staff and volunteers being put through appropriate training to ensure we are prepared to handle any situations that arise with the necessary care, empathy and confidentiality in a timely manner.
